Klickitat County A to Z (KCAZ) is hoping someone will come for- ward to solve the mystery. Goldendale celebrated its lOOth birthday in 1972 with a raz- zle-dazzle, humorous pageant titled "Glitter," the story of the city's colorful history. With the high school football field as a stage, a cast of hundreds re-enact- ed settlers arriving by wagon train, Indian wars and even the town's only public hanging. According to a 1972 report in The Goldendale Sentinel, the whole cast and crew assembled on Saturday to film the produc- tion for posterity. Klickitat Coun- ty Historical Sodety and KCAZ believe that someone must know what happened to the film. "Goldendale's big birthday pageant is a great story," Teddy Cole, KCAZ chairman said. "It's just the kind of story we're seek- ing for the book about Klickitat County we're putting together. We'd like to hear from people who took part in the pageant, and if anyone can furnish a due to the whereabouts of the "Glitter" film, please call Mary Jean Lord, at Goldendale ~ School 1 la~k students will need to supply the 1 pkg. ~ top following items for use in their .~ perils (1 dozen) classrooms.
