Broken Spur
rodeo Saturday
Last fall, a bunch of
Klickitat Count' youngsters
got their first taste of the cow-
boy's arts at the inaugural
Broken Spur youth rodeo.
For some, that meant being
led through a regulation pole-
bending course on horseback
by a dad or a mona. For others,
it meant joining the stick-
horse race.
Quite a few very young peo-
ple got to try out freshly devel-
oped horsemanship skills, all
on their own.
This Saturday, Sept. n, the
Broken Spur Rodeo
Association will hold its sec-
ond annual rodeo beginning
at 1p.m.
Organizers promise "a
beginner rodeo for contes-
tants who have not tried their
hand at learning rodeo skills."
Events include barrel rac-
ing, pole bending, mutton
bustin', a stick-horse race,
"and if time allows, numerous
tim ganles."
The rodeo will be held at
149 Willis Road, just east of
Goldendale. Anyone wanting
more information may con-
tact Vincent Miller at 773-
6144.
